July is Park and Recreation Month and there’s no better time to announce that Plano is the highest ranked city in North Texas for its recreational and leisurely offerings, such as parks and museums, according to WalletHub.

The report comprises 100 of the largest U.S. cities, and Texas boasts 13 having a wide range of recreational activities and pastimes, the highest ranking Texas city being El Paso (No. 34). Plano came in at No. 50 and was the highest ranking North Texas city.

Cities were ranked by 35 different metrics from the accessibility and quality of our parks to the number of music venues. Spending on parks per capita and park playgrounds per 1,000 residents was also a factor, as well as climate.
