Michelle Ramirez Named Senior Director Of Operations At Frontiers Of Flight Museum

Ramirez will lead five divisions across the museum’s 100,000-square-foot facility

The Frontiers of Flight Museum recently announced the appointment of Michelle Ramirez, who brings 20 years of operational experience in the nonprofit sector throughout North Texas, as the new senior director of operations. 

In the role, Ramirez will lead five divisions across the museum’s 100,000-square-foot facility, which houses over 300,000 exhibits. Her responsibilities include managing volunteer programs, guest services (admissions, food and beverage and the museum store), technology and human resources with an emphasis on culture, DEIB and health and safety. 

“I’m honored to join the Frontiers of Flight Museum at such an exciting time,” said Ramirez in an official statement. “I look forward to enhancing our programs, revitalizing the museum's spaces, and creating unforgettable experiences for our visitors and volunteers.”

Ramirez will also work closely with the president and CEO to drive the museum’s ongoing renovations and capital projects planned for 2025-2027.

"Michelle’s extensive background in nonprofit operations, education settings, human resources,interim CEO role and her dedication to community engagement make her an invaluable addition to our leadership team," said President and CEO Abigail Erickson-Torres. "Her experience in directing facilities and guest services will be instrumental as we continue to grow and improve our visitor experiences, and she is also very cool and fun to work with!”

Ramirez’s prior experience includes leadership roles at Bryan’s House, as well as positions at MADD, Genesis Women’s Shelter and Promise House. Her bilingual skills will further support the museum's engagement with Dallas’s diverse communities.

The Frontiers of Flight Museum welcomes over 150,000 visitors annually from 39 countries, including 58,000 students from Title I schools. The museum highlights the history of aviation and space exploration through interactive exhibits and educational programs.
