This year, Texas is lucky enough to be in the eclipse’s path of totality, a celestial event that only happens every 400 years. On April 8, those looking to view the solar eclipse can head to Legacy West.
According to NASA, this rare phenomenon is the last total solar eclipse visible from the United States until 2044, promises a breathtaking display as the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, casting a shadow across the region. The eclipse is scheduled to begin at 1:27 pm CDT in Texas and conclude at 3:35 p.m. EDT in Maine. The eclipse will traverse North America with a mesmerizing sight as the sky darkens, resembling the twilight hours.
Legacy West will be hosting the ultimate rooftop viewing party for those hoping to take part in this celestial event. Featuring live entertainment by DJ Richy Smart, attendees will be able to take part in fun-filled activities and photo moments suitable for all ages, ensuring an unforgettable experience for everyone.
Delicious treats from local vendors and Legacy West's favorite spots will also be available for purchase.
The eclipse will start at 12:23 p.m. and will reach totality by 1:40 p.m. Attendees will head to the Legacy West, Garage G on Level 6 to witness the breathtaking moment when the moon obscures the sun with the help of eclipse viewing glasses, provided with entry to the event. The event is BYOC (bring your own chair).
Tickets are required to attend the event. Available for $10. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.
