North Texas residents can finally start dusting off their finest lederhosen outfits, as The Star in Frisco is set to host the city’s annual Oktoberfest event on Oct. 7, 2023.

Inspired by the beer festival that originated in Munich, Bavaria, Frisco’s Oktoberfest honors the traditions of the original festival while putting its own Texas spin on it.

This year’s celebratory event will feature refreshing beers and delicious German cuisine to enjoy, in addition to live music performances that will surely get everyone on their feet to dance.

The event will also have a variety of fun-filled Oktoberfest games to play. Visitors looking for a test of endurance can participate in either the stein hoisting contests or in the brat-eating competitions. Want to show off your agility and strength? If so, then the keg rolling competition or the stein relays are the perfect games to showcase just that. Finally, attendees looking for a mix of competition and cuteness overload can take part in the adorable Dachshund Dash races.

Visitors that attend should make sure to dress in their best Oktoberfest-inspired attire as well, as the best-dressed man and woman will be selected as Mr. and Ms. Oktoberfest. The winners will receive a commemorative glass stein and 20 food and drink tickets.

This year will be the first that the event is going ticket-less, which means that attendees can purchase food and drinks directly from vendor tents. Make sure to bring a debit or credit card though, as cash will not be accepted.

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. To learn more about this year’s Frisco Oktoberfest, head to friscooktoberfest.com.
