The NCAA named Dallas the host city for two significant collegiate sporting events: the 2027 Division I Women's Golf Regional at Trinity Forest Golf Club and the 2028 Division I Men's Basketball Regional at the American Airlines Center.

“Today is another great example of how big wins happen here,” said Monica Paul, executive director of the Dallas Sports Commission, in an official statement. “We are excited to showcase the passion Dallas has for March Madness and elite collegiate athletic events, further solidifying our reputation as both the number one sports business city in the nation and a global sports destination.”

The NCAA recently revealed the selection of more than 240 host sites for the preliminary and final rounds of various championships, primarily for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons. This marks a significant shift in the site selection process, transitioning from a traditional four-year cycle to a two-year cycle, reflecting an enhanced approach to evaluating bids from member schools, conferences, cities and sports commissions across the country.

In total, over 1,200 bids were submitted from across 47 states and Washington, D.C., with Florida leading the pack with 22 selected events. Pennsylvania and Texas follow closely behind with 20 each. “The enthusiasm and interest from around the country to host NCAA championships continues to be a testament to the quality of our events,” said Lynda Tealer, NCAA senior vice president of championships, in an official statement.

The NCAA's selection process emphasized the ability to create exceptional experiences for student-athletes while adhering to sport-specific bid specifications, such as optimal facilities, ease of travel and ample lodging. This method aims to ensure that all championship events provide a safe and dignified atmosphere for attendees.

“Dallas and American Airlines Center remains a top destination for NCAA Basketball championships, and we’re excited to deliver an experience that will match the excitement of the athletes on the court," said Dave Brown, chief operating officer and general manager of the American Airlines Center, in an official statement.
