There’s so much great stuff to eat and do in North Texas. But what’s the best? Just as the year ends, here’s a moment for us — and you — to look back at the best of the best for 2023. Local Profile voted internally on its favorites and, over the past year, let you do the same. While readers’ choice isn’t for every category, hundreds of y’all replied, letting us know what your favorites were. And for that, we thank you.
Best Brunch
Fairview Farmers
441 E. Stacy Road, Fairview, TX 75069 | 469.617.1302
Run by a family of farmers in … Fairview (hence the name!), Fairview Farmers serves up a menu that is sourced exclusively from organic and local farms. We love the earthy and modern vibe inside, complete with birch posts, wood slat ceilings and rope chandeliers. But you know what we love even more? The food. The chorizo skillet is a standout. Order it. Enjoy it. You’re welcome.
Readers’ Choice: First Watch
3131 Custer Road, Plano, TX 75075 | 972.312.8828
Not only are First Watch’s brunch dishes a big hit with readers, but so are the early bird cocktails, especially the mimosas. But First Watch is also a great place for kiddos (order those chocolate chip pancakes!), making it a winner.
“Fantastic brunch location. It has delicious waffles, and even my 5-year-old loves going here.” — Kristi R.
Bonus Round: Best Bakery
Bresnan Bread and Pastry
301 E. Louisiana St., Suite B, McKinney, TX 75069 | (214) 578-1979
Deciding what to get at Bresnan Bread and Pastry is no easy task. Do I want kouign amann? What about an orange cardamom? But their croissants are so dang good. Do what I do: get them all.
