The opening of the Plano office highlights Texas' continued expansion as a technology and innovation hub. "Tech innovation is crucial for our region's growth," said Plano Mayor John Muns in a statement. "The new Tech Mahindra office will nurture local talent and contribute significantly to our economy, reflecting our shared commitment to fostering a thriving tech ecosystem."

Tech Mahindra, already a major employer in North Texas, sees the new facility as a critical step in enhancing its service offerings, particularly in areas like artificial intelligence, cloud computing and cybersecurity. “This space will enable us to enhance our innovation offerings,” said President and Head of Americas Leadership Council Lakshmanan Chidambaram.

As the company expands in Plano, Tech Mahindra continues to focus on giving back to the local community. The company has been involved in various initiatives, such as supporting educational institutions and environmental sustainability efforts, and remains committed to corporate social responsibility through volunteer work and charitable contributions.

More Tech Companies Flock To Plano

Tech Mahindra’s move is part of a broader trend of tech companies coming to Plano, which has been rapidly evolving into a vibrant tech hub. The city is home to corporate giants like Toyota, PepsiCo and Bank of America, but it’s the tech industry that has seen the most growth. In the last year alone, several notable companies have set up shop in Plano, including Diversified, which moved its headquarters from New Jersey, and Simplilearn, which relocated from San Francisco.

Plano’s position as a top destination for tech companies was further solidified by its ranking as the fourth-best tech city in the U.S. in a 2024 study by software review site Cloudwards. The city's robust internet coverage ranked as the best in the nation, was a key factor in this high placement.
