World No. 9 Casper Ruud To Play In Dallas Open In Frisco, Texas

The 2025 Dallas Open promises to be an exciting event with World No. 9 Casper Ruud and reigning champion Tommy Paul set to compete. Scheduled for Feb. 1-9, the tournament will be held at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco.

Casper Ruud, a 12-time ATP Tour champion, advanced to the Round of 16 at this year’s U.S. Open and claimed two titles in 2024 (Geneva, Barcelona). The 25-year-old was the runner-up at both the 2022 and 2023 French Open, as well as the 2022 U.S. Open. Previously ranked as high as World No. 2 in September 2022, Ruud holds the distinction of being the highest-ranked Norwegian in tennis history.

“I am very much looking forward to playing at the new edition of the Dallas Open in 2025,” Ruud said. “Tournaments elevated to a 500-level tournament bring the highest levels of competition and as a player, I always look forward to competing against some of the best players in the world with the hopes of coming out on top".

Tommy Paul, the reigning 2024 Dallas Open champion, is one of the top-ranked Americans on the ATP Tour, currently holding the World No. 13 spot. In 2024, he earned an Olympic bronze medal in doubles with Taylor Fritz and also advanced to the Round of 16 at the U.S. Open for the second consecutive year.

The Dallas Open will rise to an ATP 500 event in 2025, marking its most competitive field since relocating to North Texas in 2022. This upgrade will draw top-tier players, offering increased ATP ranking points and a larger prize pool of approximately $2.8 million.
