International Tennis Hall of Fame inductees Kim Clijsters and Martina Hingis will reunite for an electrifying three-set exhibition match at the Women’s Tennis Classic, presented by Baker Tilly, on Feb. 1, 2025.
The event, held at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, will mark the official start of the Dallas Open, now elevated to an ATP 500 tournament.
Clijsters, a four-time Grand Slam champion, and Hingis, a five-time Grand Slam singles winner, bring decades of tennis history and skill to the court. Fans can expect an unforgettable evening as the two former world No. 1 players face off in a rivalry that has spanned over two decades.
“The opportunity to showcase legends like Kim Clijsters and Martina Hingis is a perfect way to start the 2025 Dallas Open,” said Peter Lebedevs, the tournament director, in an official statement. “This exhibition celebrates not only their remarkable careers but also the enduring appeal of tennis.”
Legends With Remarkable Legacies
Clijsters, renowned for her dominance in both singles and doubles, achieved a rare feat by winning three Grand Slam titles after becoming a mother. Hingis, meanwhile, holds the record as the youngest major winner in history and boasts 25 Grand Slam titles across all formats.
“I’m thrilled to play in the Women’s Tennis Classic alongside Martina,” said Clijsters, in an official statement. “Texas fans are passionate, and it will be an honor to step onto the court for such an exciting event.”
Hingis echoed the sentiment, saying, “It’s always a privilege to play against Kim. We’ve had incredible battles, and I look forward to bringing that energy to Frisco.”
