As Local Profile previously reported, Collin County and North Texas were hit by a severe thunderstorm. The city of Plano continues to asses and clean up the damage.

According to the city of Plano, a semi was overturned at Spring Creek Parkway and Parker Road, a wall collapsed at Hedgcoxe Road, damage at an auto shop at Parker Road and Independence Parkway, and fallen tree limbs and branches throughout the city.

Plano crews are working hard to clean up the debris, and the city sent Local Profile the following update:

The city’s priority remains clearing debris from roadways. Downed trees are being cut and moved to the side of the road. We're asking our residents to report downed trees to our public works department at 972.769.4160.

Downed limbs and trees on private property are not a priority unless they are a life/safety issue.

The city is working to restore traffic signals. Generator backup is operating at 26 locations. Technicians are in the field addressing outages and flashing lights.

Only trash will be serviced today due to high amount of debris in alleys. Remember trash service slid one day due to the Memorial Day holiday.

All library locations are open, except for Harrington Library.

Power remains out in portions of the city. Oncor has crews working to restore power. Track power outages and report power outages: stormcenter.oncor.com

More heavy rain is expected tonight.
