Seattle-based Nordstrom, Inc. recently announced plans to open a new Nordstrom Rack in Prosper, in fall 2025. The new store will be located in the rapidly growing Gates of Prosper development.
"We look forward to being a part of the Prosper community and serving our customers with an amazing offering of great brands at great prices," President of Nordstrom Rack Gemma Lionello said in an official statement. "We're excited to grow our footprint in the Dallas market and introduce new customers to the Nordstrom experience."
In 2016, construction began at the northern intersection of Preston Road and U.S. 380, giving rise to The Gates of Prosper shopping center. The retail development is by Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’ real estate company Blue Star Land. The building of the development was split into three phases.
The new store will join Target, Sephora and HomeGoods, as well as the recently announced REI Co-op, at The Gates of Prosper.
"We are looking forward to welcoming a brand the caliber of Nordstrom to The Gates of Prosper and the Prosper community,” said Joe Hickman, general manager for Blue Star Land. “Nordstrom Rack will undoubtedly be a valuable addition, enhancing both The Gates and the shopping experience for our North Texas community.”
Along with this new location, Nordstrom is set to open another in Houston next spring to expand the company’s physical presence and economic influence in Texas. Currently, Nordstrom operates eight Nordstrom stores and 23 Nordstrom Rack stores across the state, collectively supporting over 3,800 jobs.
Nordstrom Rack, the off-price division of Nordstrom, Inc., is part of the company's Closer to You strategy, which aims to provide a convenient shopping experience both in-store and online.
Offering up to 70% off on-trend clothing, accessories, beauty products, home decor and shoes from top brands sold at Nordstrom, the store also provides services such as online order pickup, as well as easy returns and alterations at select locations.
