Texas is set to make history in 2025 as it hosts two of the most prestigious events in women’s golf — the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and The Chevron Championship. In celebration of this milestone, the tournaments have partnered to introduce the Texas Major Passport, a special ticket package that grants fans access to both events.
This marks the first time the Lone Star State will host two women’s golf majors in the same year. Adding to the significance, 2025 will also see the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship make its Texas debut. “This collaboration provides ticket purchasers with the rare opportunity to witness the best women players in the world compete for a Major title twice over a three-month span,” KPMG Women’s PGA Championship Director Jason Mengel said.
The Details
The Chevron Championship will take place April 24-27, 2025, at The Club at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands, Texas — just over two hours from Frisco. This event, the first of five annual women’s golf majors, has served as a season-defining tournament since 1983. Past champions include golf greats such as Nelly Korda, Jin Young Ko, Lydia Ko, Stacy Lewis and Lexi Thompson.
Meanwhile, the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, the second-oldest women’s Major, will be held June 19-22, 2025, at Fields Ranch East at PGA Frisco. This championship consistently attracts the best female golfers in the world, including 2024 champion Amy Yang, as they compete for their place in golf history.
“The launch of the Texas Major Passport underscores this year’s historic significance for women’s golf,” Executive Director of The Chevron Championship Glenn Weckerlin said in an official statement. “At The Chevron Championship, we look forward to welcoming some of the world’s top players to The Woodlands, and we are proud to partner with the PGA of America to offer fans the opportunity to be part of this exceptional stretch of golf in Texas.”
Throughout history, only three players — Pat Bradley (1986), Annika Sörenstam (2005), and Inbee Park (2013) — have won both The Chevron Championship and the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in the same year, setting the stage for an electrifying season.
