Can you believe SpongeBob is 25? While the character was born in 1986 (according to his driver's license), the show premiered in May 1999. We've had a quarter century of SpongeBob SquarePants! In celebration part of a broader celebration of the character, Le Rêve Gelato & Patisserie in Dallas is bringing the iconic Krabby Patty to life — this time in cake form.

From Oct. 9 to 27, the local patisserie will offer a limited-edition dessert as part of the Krabby Patty Kollab, featuring a unique SpongeBob hamburger-themed cake.

For fans of SpongeBob SquarePants and creative desserts, the Krabby Patty cake offers a fun, nostalgic and delicious treat. Local Profile recently had the chance to try the cake, and it's delicious.

The creative confection includes a vanilla sponge bun, a pineapple "patty," vanilla pastry cream cheese, crêpe "lettuce," strawberry mousse in the shape of a tomato and ganache "mayonnaise." The playful dish is completed with puff pastry fries and sweet ketchup made from strawberries. The cake is available while supplies last at Le Rêve, located at 12817 Preston Rd.

Andy Pham, the owner and pastry chef of Le Rêve, grew up watching SpongeBob and was thrilled when he was approached to join the collaboration. “When they reached out about this collab, I thought, ‘No way,’” Pham said. Despite his excitement, creating the cake took time and attention to detail. “It took about two months to do this. I wanted to make sure it tasted good,” Pham said. “I’ve never done anything like this.”

Fans of the show can join in on the celebration by heading to Le Rêve to try the Krabby Patty cake while it's available. As SpongeBob himself might say, "Are you ready? I'm ready!"
