North Texas Brunch Specials For This MLK Jr. Day

Brunch sandwich at Sixty Vines

With Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Jan. 15, 2024, several restaurants throughout North Texas announced that they will be offering mouth-watering brunch specials during the holiday.

So, whether you are in the mood for a traditional egg breakfast, more meat-centric meals or even refreshing adult beverages, these eateries are the go-to spots to check out this upcoming Monday.

Haywire

Texas-based food establishment Haywire will be commemorating the holiday with its signature Hill-Country inspired brunch, which includes short rib chilaquiles, steak and eggs, as well as its brand new Trailblazing Mary — a unique spin on the Bloody Mary, which features gulf shrimp, a crispy onion ring, thick-cut applewood bacon and more.

Haywire can be found in both Plano (5901 Winthrop St.) and Dallas (1920 McKinney Ave.).

Ida Claire

For MLK Day, southern food restaurant Ida Claire plans on offering its signature biscuits, chicken and waffles, along with a ham and green egg benedict that would make Dr. Seuss proud.

Ida Claire is located at 5001 Beltline Rd in Dallas.

Mexican Sugar

Mexican Sugar, purveyors of Mexican comfort food, have a few brunch items that it will be offering at its Plano (7501 Lone Star Drive), Irving (3215 Regent Blvd) and Dallas (2355 Olive Street) locations.

Throughout the three-day weekend, Mexican Sugar will be serving up bold-flavored dishes like cajeta french toast, hamburguesa and egg, along with chicken chilaquiles. 

The restaurant also has a number of hand-crafted cocktails that make for perfect pairings, and will surely help start the day right.

Sixty Vines

On tap at Sixty Vines (wine establishment) is a slew of vineyard-inspired brunch items such as orange morning bread, egg white and goat cheese frittata and avocado eggs benedict, to name a few.

Guests will also be able to complete their delectable brunch meals with a wide selection of sustainable wines on tap and hand-crafted cocktails.

Sixty Vines has locations in both Dallas (500 Crescent Court) and Plano (3701 Dallas Pkwy).

The Ranch in Las Colinas

Similar to Haywire, The Ranch in Las Colinas also has another Hill-Country-inspired brunch menu planned for MLK Day. 

Among the sweet and savory dishes patrons can choose from include coffee cake in a can, kolaches and queso, pecan brown butter pancakes and the Cadillac Brunch Burger.

The Ranch in Las Colinas is based out of Irving (857 W John Carpenter Fwy).

Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar 

For the special occasion, Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar announced that it is bringing back its build your own bloody mary, a customizable beverage that can be made the way you want it.

Other tasty brunch specials include lemon blueberry french toast, chicken and waffles, as well as wagyu wake up hash.

Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar can be found in Plano (3601 Dallas Pkwy) and Irving (3225 Regent Blvd.).
