Mediterranean Restaurant Miznon Opens In The Colony

Mediterranean eatery Miznon launched its second Texas location on Nov. 12, 2024, at The Shacks Dining & Dog Park in The Colony.

Situated at 5808 Windhaven Parkway, the 900-square-foot restaurant offers a grab-and-go dining experience with a spacious patio for outdoor seating. Its open kitchen allows diners to see their meals crafted with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, delivering authentic Mediterranean street food with a modern touch.

Established in 2011 in Tel Aviv by renowned chef Eyal Shani, Miznon captures the vibrant spirit of Tel Aviv's food culture. The menu revolves around the pita, freshly baked by the iconic Angel Bakeries of Jerusalem, adding an authentic touch to each dish. "All the way from Tel Aviv to The Colony, we’re bringing a one-of-a-kind experience that locals will love, bringing people together over authentic Mediterranean street food,” said Miznon Founder and Head Chef Eyal Shani in an official statement.

Following the success of its Texas debut in Deep Ellum earlier this year, Miznon’s new spot in The Colony is one of only seven U.S. locations, joining a network of more than 15 Miznon restaurants worldwide.

Popular pita dishes feature an array of unique options, with prices starting at an accessible $15. Exclusive to Miznon’s North Texas locations is the bone-in pita, a specialty filled with tender, slow-cooked lamb spare rib stew, complemented by sweet grapes, tahini, chili, onions and pickles.

At Miznon, plates are set aside in favor of serving dishes in brown paper bags and cardboard for a casual feel. The olive-toned walls are adorned with chalk drawings, featuring playful handwritten phrases in both Hebrew and English.

Miznon The Colony will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and the concept plans to continue to expand to other cities and suburbs in Texas.
