Lakewood Brewing Launches Cotton Candy Bacon Beer For State Fair Of Texas

The State Fair of Texas is full of unique and interesting flavors, and this year is no exception. Garland-based Lakewood Brewing recently announced a new collaboration and a cotton candy bacon beer.

The beer, will be paired with Rousso’s cotton candy bacon on a stick, the winner of this year’s best taste–sweet category at the Big Tex Choice Awards. Available at the Magnolia Beer Garden during the State Fair of Texas from Sept. 27 to Oct. 20, this blonde ale is light, mildly sweet and smooth to drink.

“To be fair, this was a challenge even for our creative crew,” said Wim Bens, founder and president of Lakewood Brewing in an official statement. “We’ve put bacon in beer before, and we’ve done fun sweet flavors as well, but to put both in a beer and make it super drinkable took a group effort. But the finished brew turned out fantastic. It’s easy to drink, has a slight cotton candy sweet taste and some smoky bacon in the nose. We’re beyond excited to partner with Rousso’s and can’t wait to have a few while strolling the Midway!”

Rousso’s cotton candy bacon on a stick features honey-smoked bacon cooked with a special seasoning and glazed with a secret cotton candy syrup. It’s then wrapped in fluffy cotton candy and lightly caramelized, creating a one-of-a-kind bacon experience unlike anything else in Texas — or anywhere else to be honest.

Lakewood’s cotton candy bacon blonde will be available exclusively at the State Fair and the Lakewood Brewing Taproom, served alongside fall favorites like pumpkin spice latte temptress, punkel and pony pils, the official beer of Mustang Nation.

Lakewood Brewing Company is a family-owned, independent craft brewery dedicated to creating fun and unique beers. Since its launch in 2012, Lakewood has made a significant impact on the DFW brewing scene, gaining popularity for its temptress imperial milk stout, which has become the best-selling craft stout in Texas.
