An iconic restaurant known for its massive and delicious sticky buns will soon open in Plano after shutting its doors in Dallas.
Crossroads Diner, previously located on Walnut Hill Avenue, then at 17194 Preston Rd. in North Dallas, closed in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I’m truly saddened that I am writing this, but the time has come. We have decided to close Crossroads Diner permanently,” Crossroads Diner posted on Facebook in Nov. 2020. “I thought we would make it to [our] 10-year anniversary but we fell short by 5 days!! Nine years and 360 days is still a damn good run!”
On May 8, 2024, the restaurant posted again on Facebook, this time announcing the restaurant would be reopening in Plano at 645 Powell Ln. The establishment will occupy a 3,300-square-foot space and include an outdoor patio.
The Plano location will serve breakfast and lunch from Tuesday to Sunday and will feature a full bar. Additionally, it will offer dinner service from Wednesday to Saturday, catering to senior citizens with hours from 4-8 p.m.
The restaurant will continue to serve its classic offerings such as omelets, pancakes, eggs benedict and, of course, sticky buns. As the diner’s famous sign reads, “clean hands, sticky buns.”
According to The Dallas Morning News, the Crossroads Diner is expected to begin serving guests in Plano in September of this year.
