The city of Richardson is inviting residents to participate in shaping the future of its cultural arts landscape through an updated Cultural Arts Master Plan.

The city aims to gather feedback on public art, performance spaces, and other cultural events and services. The survey, available online from Aug. 5 to Oct. 6, 2024, will inform the city’s strategy for enhancing arts support.

“The city of Richardson knows the power of cultural arts and how it can create more vibrant places. We want to hear from you!” reads the official website. “We want to know how to shape the heart of Richardson to create a place that you love.”

The update will assess existing cultural resources, such as theaters and galleries, recommend funding strategies and suggest policy changes to bolster arts initiatives. According to the official statement, “the Cultural Arts Master Plan update will serve as a roadmap as the city continues to refine support for arts and culture into the fabric of the community, fostering growth, sustainability and a richer cultural life.”

Residents can complete the survey, which takes under five minutes, here. The survey’s results will influence future cultural arts grants, programming and community events.

For additional details, residents can visit the city’s social media channels or the survey link
