Plano Flags Of Honor To Celebrate Veterans, First Responders

From Nov. 9-16, 2024, Plano's Red Tail Pavilion at Oak Point Park Event Field will transform into a vibrant display of red, white and blue, featuring over 1,100 American flags for the 2024 Plano Flags of Honor. This exhibition will honor veterans and first responders, paying tribute to those who have served the nation and community.

In its eighth year, the Plano Flags of Honor has evolved into a cherished tradition, offering the community a way to celebrate Veterans Day. Throughout a weeklong series of programs and activities, attendees can explore the experiences of veterans and first responders, share personal stories and strengthen the bonds of the community.

“The Plano Flags of Honor is a place for our community to come together and reflect on the sacrifices made by our veterans and first responders,” said Lisa Bloomer, event co-chair, in an official statement. “These flags are more than symbols; they represent the lives and stories of our heroes, who have given so much in service to others.”

More than 1,100 American flags will be displayed, each dedicated to a veteran or first responder. Additionally, the exhibition will include the 27 historical flags of the United States, along with flags representing each branch of the military.

How to get involved:

  • Honor a Hero: Share the story of a veteran or first responder in your life by submitting their information to be on a dedication card in this year’s field of flags.
  • Fire Truck Pull: Gather your team and join the Fire Truck Pull on November 9.
  • Volunteer: Volunteering at the Plano Flags of Honor is a way to give back to the community and honor those who serve.
  • Sponsorship Opportunities: Local businesses, organizations and individuals can support the event through sponsorships.
