My Possibilities Raises $660,000 At Annual Community Ball

On Saturday, May 4, nearly 900 donors gathered at the Hyatt Regency, Dallas alongside adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) to celebrate sixteen years of possibilities at the annual My Possibilities Community Ball. This year's event raised a record-breaking $660,000 through ticket sales, sponsorships, donations and the silent auction.

My Possibilities provides programs that focus on socialization, vocational training and independent living skills to their clients, known as Hugely Important People (HIPsters). These skills equip them with the knowledge and confidence needed to achieve the life they deserve. My Possibilities’s mission is the relentless pursuit of full, untapped possibilities for all Hugely Important People.

My Possibilities stands as the inaugural full-day, year-round continuing education and job placement initiative in North Texas. Its primary aim is to provide adults with IDD the opportunity to pursue higher education and showcase their untapped potential.

“This year’s Midsummer’s Night Masquerade was a magical celebration of inclusivity. From the moment HIPsters stepped on to the red carpet to the last song of the night, the excitement and energy was discernible," said Karen Wald, Chair of the MP Board of Directors. "We are so grateful to our amazing event chairs, the O’Brien Family, for making this event a huge success. A special thanks to our generous community sponsors and partners, their support ensures HIPsters will have the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential. And thank you for the My Possibilities staff and leadership who lead through inclusion, opportunity, advocacy and respect, every day.”
