Be a part of a world record!

The World’s Largest Swim Lesson will be held Friday, June 24 at two local recreation centers.

Everyone over the age of 6 is invited to this FREE event at Oak Point and Tom Muehlenbeck Recreation Centers and Rowlinson Natatorium in Plano. Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium in Allen is also hosting the event. The times for each location are listed below. Registration is required, with a limited number of spots available.

The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™  is being hosted in waterparks, pools and aquatic facilities around the globe June 24, in an effort to build awareness about the importance of teaching children to swim and how it can prevent drownings. Check out these 10 tips to avoid swimming-pool dangers here.

Join the fun-filled event where every participant will receive a free lesson and certificate. And hopefully you’ll be able to say you were part of a Guinness World Records!

WORLD’S LARGEST SWIM LESSON

When/where: Friday, June 24

  • Oak Point Recreation Center, 12-1 p.m.
  • Tom Muehlenbeck Center,  8-9:30 a.m.
  • Rowlinson Natatorium, 2-3 p.m.
  • Rodenbaugh Natatorium, 10-11 a.m.

Cost: Free

To register for one of the Plano locations, go to the City of Plano Parks and Recs page, click on Aquatics and then click Specialized Aquatics, scroll to the bottom of the alphabatized list to WORLD’S LARGEST SWIMMING LESSON and then click Show Courses.

To register for the Allen location, go to the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson website, search Allen.
