Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, who knew that Tenaj Danelle Hopkins would find her dream wedding venue in Downtown Plano?

“While working at a Khol’s in Dallas, I met a customer by the name of Elizabeth Velazquez (who is now one of our dearest friends). She was in search of a New Year’s Eve outfit for a friend’s party.” Fate took over and on a whim, Elizabeth invited Tenaj to the party where she would meet her husband, Alex Mays from Indianapolis.

“We hit it off pretty well and soon after, we had our first date at a small pizza place in downtown Dallas’ Deep Ellum. Fast forward to New Year’s Eve of 2015…Alex proposed to me at the same little booth in the same pizza place.” And while Deep Ellum may then have been a perfectly romantic choice for their big day, the couple was attracted to the chic, hip vibe of none other than Historic Downtown Plano.

“I’d been scouting a couple of venues online, but nothing stood out more than event1013 [in Downtown Plano]. The atmosphere was perfect for what we were looking for, something nice and intimate. The staff was so professional, and the owner Deborah Pierce was the nicest and a pleasure to work with. We couldn’t be happier with our experience.”

Surrounded by their closest family and friends, the happy couple said “I Do” on January 28, 2016.
