Did you know that accordions are so popular, there is a national convention held annually and a National Accordion Association (NAA)? This year’s National Accordion Convention is held Wednesday–Saturday, March 9–12 at the Hyatt Regency North Dallas in Richardson.

The four-day event will cater to the accordion community and interested guests by offering workshops, performances and events for fans of all ages. Everyone is welcome to hear and interact with world-class accordion musicians who play all aspects of the musical world. Genres include: modern, jazz, recreational, festival dances, solos, ensembles, orchestra and lots more! Acoustic and digital music will both be used to show diversity in days of late and current technology trends.

Wednesday night kicks off with a free pre-convention party where guests can mingle with band and symphonic conductors. The following three days’ evening performances are $10 a person and consist of concerts, a dance party and a night with music stars. For more information on the performance and evening events, click here.

A series of accordion workshops are available and most are lead by accordion musicians, including Michael Bridge, Jaime Maschler, Cory Pesaturo and Joseph Natoli. A Saturday youth workshop and competition is also offered for children between the ages of 4–18 years old. Check out all of the possible workshops you could attend, here.
