Kent Rathbun Concepts has good news for bourbon fans: All restaurants under the Kent Rathbun Concepts umbrella (Abacus, Jasper’s and Hickory Kitchen) will begin pouring their signature bottles of Single Barrel Knob Creek Bourbon.
The 120-proof spirit was hand-selected by Kent Rathbun and his partner, Bill Hyde, who spent a lot of time in Knob Creek’s Kentucky rickhouses, where they sampled bourbon from several barrels. During this sampling, they chose one that stood out as unique and distinctive with exceptionally refined flavors, and one that they wanted to pour from behind their bars.
All Knob Creek Single Barrel Bourbons spend nine years aging in American oak barrels, which impart aromas and flavors of rich wood, robust caramel and sweet vanilla. The spirit has found favor with consumers and critics alike, racking up awards since its release in 2011. But with individual barrels comes individual bourbons, which makes the Kent Rathbun Concepts barrel unlike any other in the marketplace.
“We are looking forward to sharing this one-of-a-kind bourbon with all of our customers, said Kent. “We chose a barrel that displayed exceptional depth and character, and we hope everyone likes it as much as we do.”
Kent Rathbun Concepts’ Knob Creek Single Barrel Bourbon will be available at all the company’s restaurants and priced at $16 per 1.5 ounce pour. Availability is limited, and when it’s gone, it’s gone for good. So those who want to try the unique bourbon should make plans to do so soon.
