Musical Youth OnSTAGE (MYO) presents the classic musical, The Fantasticks, on January 22 and 23 at the Cox Playhouse in Plano. With music by Harvey Schmidt and lyrics by Tom Jones, this is the longest running musical ever with more than 20,000 performances.
The Fantasticks is the story of two neighboring fathers who put up a wall between their houses to ensure that their children fall in love, because after all, everyone knows children love to do what their parents forbid. After the children do fall in love, they discover their fathers’ plot and each run off and experience different things in the world. Once they return to each other, they realize the true love they had, having learned from the world.
