An artisan and 12-year anniversary celebration event was held at Pam Vincent’s shop, owner of the Plano-based company, with the accompaniment of artisan Alessandro Taddei. Born in Italy, he began learning from local craftsmen in Tuscany and developed his 30-year resume in ceramics by working alongside the best ceramic maestros in the world. Taddei is most known for his ever popular, best-selling Old St. Nick collection, which was inspired by his childhood memories of stories his mother used to read him about Babbo Natale.
Customers at the event were thrilled to meet Taddei, and have the opportunity to buy a VIETRI piece that could be signed by the artisan himself. For those who are unfamiliar with this brand, Pam Vincent gives a great explanation by stating that VIETRI, “has grown from a small company representing one Italian factory to the largest Italian importing company in the American tabletop industry.” It is not only a popular company in all 50 United States, but also serves Canada, England, Mexico, Europe, South America, Asia and Australia. Pam goes on to mention the 40 manufacturers VIETRI works with throughout Italy and their involvement in ceramics (earthenware and stoneware), glass, metals, and textiles. The richness of European culture combined with a sophisticated American spirit creates the fashion-forward yet classic look of VIETRI’s Italian collections.
