For many, sitting down to watch It’s a Wonderful Life is as much a Christmas tradition as putting up the tree and hanging the stockings, so this year why not treat yourself to something a little different?

Rover Dramawerks, the longest producing small professional theater company in Plano, which describes itself as “theater off the beaten path,” invites you to embrace this beloved American holiday classic as it comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage with live sound effects, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve.

It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play by Joe Landry, will run at the Rover Dramawerks theater in Plano from December 11–24, with matinee performances Saturdays, Sundays and Christmas Eve.
