The 5th Annual SlingFest will take place on Sunday, November 15 at 11 a.m. at Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve in Plano. Presented by the DFW Trebuchet Society and TheLab.ms (a Plano-area maker space), all is set for a great battle! A pumpkin flinging battle that is!

SlingFest 2015

SlingFest is an annual competition of compound machines exploiting leverage and gravity to fling pumpkins as far as possible. Competitors wage battle in five different categories in the competition: accuracy, distance, funky fling, crowd choice and builder choice.

When: Sunday, November 15, 2015 11 a.m.– 4 p.m.

Where: Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve, 2801 E Spring Creek Pkwy., Plano, TX 75074

Event Schedule: 

9 a.m.–11 a.m.: Trebuchet assembly and test fires
11 a.m.–Noon: Spectator viewing and demo
Noon–12:30 p.m.: Introductions
12:30–1:30 p.m.: Accuracy Contests (3 shots per team)
1:30–2 p.m.: Funky Fling (i.e. Best Ballistic)
2–3 p.m.: Distance Contests (3 shots per team)
3–3:30 p.m.: Awards Ceremony
3:30 p.m.–Close: Cleanup

Tickets: 
Tickets can be purchased at the gate. $10 for adults (18+), $5 for kids aged 12-17, and free for kids under the age of 12. However, if purchased in advance at Eventbrite, tickets cost $5. No pets allowed.
