Liberty Mutual Insurance this morning broke ground at their new Plano campus at the corner of Dallas North Tollway and Highway 121.

The new campus will incorporate two 19-story towers which will house more than 4,000 workers within the $2 billion Legacy West development.

In attendance at the event was Mayor LaRosiliere (Office of Plano Mayor & City Council), Mayor Pro Tem Lissa Smith, Council Members Angela Miner, Rick Grady, City Manager Bruce Glasscock and Economic Development Director Sally Bane, who all helped turn the dirt on this momentous occasion.

The new Plano building will be a state-of-the-art campus for more than 4,000 employees located near amenities such as restaurants, shops, apartments, health clubs, daycare and more to help them balance the demands of their personal and professional lives.

Scheduled to open in 2017, this new Liberty Mutual campus will provide over 1,000 jobs in construction. Liberty Mutual Insurance has also confirmed plans to hire approximately 2,000 local workers for the new office, while the other 2,000 employees will be transplants from Texas and across the US.
