Hill Top Park in McKinney has a playground which is completely shaded – literally every single play structure is covered by a white awning.

North Texas has an average of 234 days of sunshine every year so it’s a blessing to have a completely shaded playground.

The playground itself is rather simple and is probably best suited to smaller children (age 7 and under). The play structures include swings, slides, climbing walls and picnic benches.

Hill Top Park in McKinney is 10.2 acres and is the neighborhood park for Walker Elementary. In addition to the shaded playground there is a hike and bike trail as well as an open greenspace for sports practices.

The playground at Hill Top Park in McKinney was newly renovated in 2020.
