The Eisemann Center, a performing arts theater in Richardson, Texas, announced that it will be hosting a free concert on Wednesday, March 20.
Taking place at the center’s Hill Performance Hall stage, the concert features a live performance from the U.S. Navy Band Sea Chanters. The Sea Chanters are an ensemble group that performs a wide array of musical genres including traditional choral music, sea chanteys, patriotic fare, opera, Broadway and contemporary music.
The upcoming performance at the Eisemann Center will mark the third time that the Sea Chanters has performed live at the North Texas theater.
When they aren’t out on the road, touring the U.S., the ensemble can normally be found in their home city of Washington, D.C., performing for important figures like the president, vice president and numerous congressional, military and foreign dignitaries.
The Chanters often take center stage during the nation's most significant gatherings, such as inauguration day ceremonies and state funerals. They were instrumental in offering solace to the nation during times of grief, performing at memorials honoring the astronauts of the space shuttle Columbia and participating in the presidential wreath-laying ceremony at the United Airlines Flight 93 crash site in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. They also performed a rendition of "Amazing Grace" during the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance at the National Cathedral in Washington following the events of 9/11.
The group has performed at prestigious events such as the Kennedy Center Honors and joined forces with the National Symphony Orchestra for the televised "National Memorial Day Concerts" at the U.S. Capitol. Their talents have been showcased on programs such as "Larry King Live" and "CBS This Morning," and they even performed at the premiere of the film Pearl Harbor.
Tickets for the upcoming show are available online at no cost on the Eisemann Center website or by calling the venue’s ticket office at 972-744-4650.
