A number of professional athletes have been announced for the upcoming “Celebrity Pickleball Showdown,” an exhibition match that will kick off the 2023 Biofreeze USA Pickleball National Championships in Dallas on Nov. 7, 2023.
Taking place at Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, the celebrity pickleball game will see several legendary athletes from across the pro sports realm playing alongside some of pickleball’s top professionals.
Among the high-profile names set to participate in the exhibition match include Dirk Nowitzki (former Dallas Mavericks player and hall of famer), Tony Romo (former Dallas Cowboys quarterback), Jason Kidd (former Dallas Mavericks player and current head coach of the team), Tyler Seguin (Dallas Stars forward) and John Isner (16-time tennis singles champion).
“We can’t wait to welcome the pickleball world to Dallas for the biggest-ever celebration of our wonderful sport to date," said Dave Fleming, the official broadcast voice of the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour. "Dirk, Tony, Jason, Tyler and John were eager to be a part of the record-setting USA Pickleball National Championships at Brookhaven and experience the festivities for themselves, so they’re thrilled to hit the court and join the fun."
This year's Biofreeze USA Pickleball National Championships will feature over 3,500 amateur and professional players across 65-plus courts, with the biggest prize purse being awarded in the event’s history.
“Championship Court will be buzzing to see these outstanding athletes go head-to-head in North Texas. We invite everyone to come out and enjoy this special event and the unique experience that Nationals will offer,” Fleming said.
In addition to the action on the court, the event will also feature dozens of live music acts, interactive games, tasting rooms, kid-friendly activities, customizable merchandise for sale and more.
