North Texas Nonprofit Aim To Donate Two Million Feminine Products In 2024

Flower-Mound nonprofit She Supply set a goal to donate two million period products in 2024 — one million more than in 2023. “A Million More in 2024” is the nonprofit’s goal entering the new year.

The nonprofit organization, established in 2016, offers complimentary pads, tampons, bras and underwear to women facing financial challenges or residing in homeless and domestic violence shelters. Additionally, the organization collaborates with schools and various agencies to distribute menstrual products to girls, ensuring their ability to remain engaged in class and activities regardless of their cycle.

“There are more than 150,000 female-led households in North Texas living below the poverty line and nearly 2,500 women who are homeless,” Co-founder Kathy Meyer said in a statement. “We started She Supply to fight the effects of poverty through service and friendship and to provide a sense of dignity and cleanliness to women in less fortunate circumstances.”

In February 2023, Meyer stood out among thousands of nominations and earned recognition from M&M/Mars as one of the 20 women in the U.S. "flipping the status quo" through their positive contributions to their communities. As part of this acknowledgment, Meyer and She Supply were featured on the M&M's website and video boards in Times Square. In addition to this recognition, She Supply was granted a $13,000 award to support and further the impactful initiatives.

“Every day in North Texas, there are thousands of women who can’t go to work, can’t go to an interview, can’t leave the house because they can’t afford to buy feminine hygiene products,” Meyer said. “There are thousands of girls who miss school every month because they don’t have access to or can’t afford period products. Period poverty is a real issue and for us, this is just the beginning.”
