Starting at 1 a.m. on Oct. 10, 2024, all lanes of Legacy Drive at US 380 in Denton County will be closed until Nov. 5 as part of an ongoing $135.9 million improvement project for US 380.
The project, aimed at enhancing traffic flow from Loop 288 to the Collin County line, is expected to be completed by spring 2026. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes and be mindful of workers in the area during this time.
Detour routes will be in place to help manage traffic around the closure. Northbound and southbound drivers will be directed to Mahard Parkway, while local access to businesses and residences near Legacy Drive will be available via adjacent side streets. Signage will be posted to guide drivers safely through the detours.
This closure is part of a larger infrastructure improvement initiative that includes the nearing completion of Teel Parkway from US 380 to First Street. The final stages of this project, which focuses on landscaping and irrigation, are underway and will improve both the functionality and aesthetics of the roadway.
