Grocery giant H-E-B recently bought 21 acres of land in Celina, Texas at the northeast corner of Dallas North Tollway and Fred Smith Parkway.
The newest H-E-B location will be within the sprawling Legacy Hills master-planned community, crafted by Centurion American Development Group.
According to The Dallas Morning News, H-E-B acquired the property in anticipation of the region's forthcoming growth and the ongoing expansion of its store network throughout North Texas.
Once fully developed over its 3,200 acres, Legacy Hills anticipates hosting an array of amenities, including an 18-hole golf course, two fire stations, over 7,000 single-family homes, open space for future Celina ISD schools, 4,100 multifamily units and 100 acres dedicated to commercial development, including H-E-B.
“A proud Texas company, H-E-B’s presence in the Metroplex runs deep,” a statement from H-E-B reads. “H-E-B has served the broader community for two decades with its innovative Central Market stores, which were introduced to the DFW area in 2001 and grew to serve customers in Dallas, Plano, Southlake and Fort Worth.”
As H-E-B expands across North Texas, each location is crafted to mirror the essence of the community. By, prioritizing environmental consciousness, the stores integrate various energy-efficient features like CO2 refrigeration units and LED lighting. The newest locations also boast abundant native landscaping.
Earlier this month, H-E-B officially started construction on its store in Prosper. At 132,000 square feet, the H-E-B will feature all the quality products and innovative services H-E-B customers have come to love and expect. The store is expected to open in fall 2025.
The Prosper location will be the sixth store to open in Collin County in the span of two years following the opening of stores in Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Allen and soon Melissa.
