Omni PGA Frisco Resort recently hosted an 80s-inspired, outdoor concert event in support of September Hunger Action Month.
The event, which took place in the resort's PGA District, featured an electrifying live performance from the retro Dallas-Fort Worth band, 80's Mix Tape.
Attendees of the show were encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to donate, with all donations going towards benefitting Frisco Family Services, a local social services organization that helps Frisco residents who are facing hunger, homelessness and other urgent needs.
The concert was part of Omni Hotels & Resorts' Say Goodnight to Hunger initiative, which serves to bring awareness to and combat hunger issues that Americans nationwide are experiencing.
According to the national nonprofit Feeding America, over 34 million Americans — nine million of which are children — face food insecurity today.
In an effort to help solve the ongoing hunger problem, Omni Hotels & Resorts has partnered with Feeding America, which has a network of around 200 food banks throughout the country.
Through the initiative, Omni Hotels & Resorts says that it will be making donations to benefit several food banks in communities where the hotel resort chain's properties operate. Additionally, Omni will be donating one meal to a family in need for every completed stay at one of its hotels.
