“Not only is this building a reflection of our community's commitment to excellence, but it’s also a vital resource for our officers,” read a post shared by the Celina Police Department. “The design provides our team with the facilities they need to stay mentally, physically and emotionally ready to serve and protect the citizens of Celina.”

According to Officer.com, this award highlights the building's innovative design, which reflects the city's forward-thinking vision and commitment to public safety. The facility was developed to meet the needs of a rapidly growing community, which has expanded from 18,000 residents to over 100,000 within five years and is projected to reach 300,000 in the next two decades.

The headquarters features critical law enforcement functions, including police administration, patrol, investigations and property and evidence management. Additionally, it incorporates shell space for future dispatch operations and provisions for wing expansions.

Key design elements include a fitness space, a break room with an internal courtyard and locker rooms that double as storm shelters, all intended to enhance the physical and mental well-being of officers. The facility’s use of glulam construction reflects Celina's heritage as a rural Texas town while addressing steel availability and cost challenges.

The design process involved extensive collaboration with city stakeholders to ensure alignment with both immediate and long-term goals. “This project goes beyond just a building; it represents a long-term investment in public safety,” noted the design team from Brinkley Sargent Wiginton Architects in an official statement.

The Celina Police Department, recognized for its innovative initiatives and progressive law enforcement strategies, credits the unwavering support of the Celina city council, city administration staff and the community for the project's success.
