Five minutes with Acrobatic + Anabolic expert Jon Call

Jon call jujimufu body builder acrobatic + anabolic and tricking at fitcon 2016

We met up with Jon Call, otherwise known as Jujimufu, who practices Acrobatic + Anabolic training, excelling in feats of strength and flexibility and self-taught in ‘tricking,’ an aesthetic blend of flips, twists and kicks. He’s particularly well-known for chair splits.

Where are you from?
Alabama

How long have you been doing this?
I started when I was about 15 or so; I’ve been doing it since 2000. I’m actually at that age now (30) where I want people to guess I’m younger. [He laughs.]

How did you get started in fitness?
I did Taekwondo. I was 14 or 15. That was how I got into this. It was the first thing I did that was physical. Before that it was video games when I was a kid!

What are myths you have to get over in this industry?
For me, it’s that all of this is just hard work and sacrifice and that it makes you better than others around you. I hate that. To me, it’s just fun and it’s a luxury to be able to train and have this opportunity to be healthy and to feel good enough to go to the gym and do this. I think the biggest myth is that you’re entitled to something because you go to the gym; you’re not. It’s a luxury.

Are you competing right now?
I’m just trying to get the most followers!
