Dining out can pose significant challenges for individuals with dietary restrictions, often leading to stress over whether their needs can be accommodated without feeling like an imposition. However, at Seasons 52, the allergen community finds a welcoming environment where those concerns are thoughtfully addressed.
Located at 7300 Lone Star Dr. Suite C100, Plano, Seasons 52 has earned a reputation for its inclusive dining experience. During a recent visit by Local Profile, Managing Partner Shane Dittman highlighted that the staff is well-versed in handling dietary restrictions, frequently encountering customers who arrive with prepared lists or cards detailing their allergies.
“Guests often come in with specific needs, and we’re accustomed to that,” said Dittman. “We actually have a specialty menu, as we call it, that has gluten, dairy, vegetarian and vegan. It's a two-sided menu. It takes some of the guesswork out for the guest.”
Seasons 52's kitchen practices further enhance this dedication to allergen safety. The restaurant employs rigorous measures to prevent cross-contamination for different food types and avoid fryers entirely. “We use designated equipment, like purple cutting boards and knives, to ensure we keep allergens separate,” said Dittman.
The menu is crafted to be not only delicious but also health-conscious, featuring meals that contain fewer than 595 calories using seasonal ingredients at their peak flavor. “If you let the ingredients speak — like we use our brick ovens and fire oak — those components will make food taste amazing at a higher level without needing extras,” says chef Erick Iglesias.
In addition to its allergen-friendly practices, Seasons 52 creates a family-friendly atmosphere. Dittman notes that many children grow up visiting the restaurant, establishing a tradition of family dining. The restaurant’s commitment to accommodating families is particularly notable during the holiday season, with Thanksgiving being one of the busiest days of the year. “Thanksgiving has become a family tradition for many of our guests, who come in year after year for our traditional plate.”
With its robust approach to accommodating dietary needs and its welcoming atmosphere, Seasons 52 stands out as a restaurant that prioritizes inclusivity for the allergen community. “The word is out there among the allergen community,” says Dittman, highlighting the restaurant’s solid reputation.
Currently, Seasons 52’s fall menu is in full swing, showcasing flavors like butternut squash, mushrooms and other seasonal produce. Dittman highlights the cauliflower and aged white cheddar soup, a rich, creamy dish made without exceeding the restaurant’s calorie cap. A second option, the butternut squash soup, is a fall favorite, served with pumpkin seeds and paired with a brick oven bread reminiscent of naan. Another seasonal standout is the beet salad, featuring honey-roasted golden beets, goat cheese, arugula, pistachios and a drizzle of aged balsamic. The fall flavors are rounded out with a sweet potato skillet topped with a streusel for a hint of maple and a crunchy texture.
