Heard the phrase “This ain’t their first rodeo?” — now, the city Celina can prove it. Rodeo Celina is back for its second annual showdown at the iconic Southfork Ranch from May 30 to June 1, 2025, bringing three days of high-energy rodeo action, family fun and community support.
As the only PRCA-sanctioned rodeo in Collin County, the event promises top-tier talent, thrilling competitions and a deep-rooted commitment to giving back.
Bucking Back Into Action
The rodeo kicks off on May 30, with an adrenaline-packed lineup featuring classic events such as steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding and bull riding. The competition continues on May 31 and wraps up with a Sunday matinee on June 1. Each day begins with Mutton Bustin’, where the cutest pint-sized cowboys and cowgirls take center stage:
- Friday & Saturday: Mutton Bustin’ at 6:30 p.m.; rodeo competition at 7 p.m.
- Sunday Matinee: Mutton Bustin’ at 1:30 p.m.; competition at 2 p.m.
Tickets go on sale March 10 at RodeoCelina.com, with adult tickets priced at $20 and children’s tickets (ages 3-10) available for $12. Kids 2 and under get in free — because even the tiniest wranglers deserve a front-row seat.
Rodeo Royalty & Crowd Favorites
This year’s Rodeo Celina features some of the biggest names in the business. Pro Rodeo Hall of Famer Sammy Andrews will provide top-notch stock, while veteran announcer T.C. Long returns to call the action. Adding a dose of comedy and chaos, professional barrelman and rodeo clown Kyle “Hashtag” Lamon is set to keep the crowd entertained between events. And in a performance you won’t want to miss, 14-year-old trick rider Liberty Cunningham will dazzle the audience with jaw-dropping stunts.
More Than Just a Rodeo
Beyond the dust and drama of the arena, Rodeo Celina is dedicated to making a local impact. Each day of the event highlights a different cause:
- Friday, May 30 – Thank a Veteran Night: Benefits American Legion Post 145
- Saturday, May 31 – Tough Enough to Wear Pink: Supports the Tuman Breast Health Foundation
- Sunday, June 1 – Orange Out for the Celina Bobcats: Raises funds for the Celina ISD FFA program
A Perfect Fit for Southfork Ranch
“Southfork Ranch is the perfect place for Collin County’s only PRCA rodeo,” said Sean Terry, Rodeo Celina member and VP of Entitlements for Centurion American Development Group, which owns the venue. “We invite not only all of Celina but all North Texans to join us in this exciting weekend of Western entertainment and action.”
So, dust off those boots, grab your cowboy hat and get ready for a weekend where the action is nonstop and the spirit of the rodeo is alive and kicking, even if this is your first rodeo.
