The impact of Sept. 11, 2001, continues to resonate deeply for many Americans, particularly those who witnessed the tragedy unfold over two decades ago. The events of that day, now symbolized by "9/11," remain etched in our collective memory.
A few years ago, reflecting on how time has passed since that fateful day, one of our writers, originally from New York, shared a personal perspective on witnessing the attacks.
As the anniversary approaches, communities across North Texas will gather to honor and remember those affected by the tragedy. These remembrance ceremonies serve as solemn tributes to the day’s events and underscore the strength and unity that emerged in its aftermath.
Here is a guide to the 9/11 remembrance ceremonies taking place across North Texas.
