Another HQ Relocation: Sally Beauty Plans Move To Plano

Sally Beauty Holdings, Inc., a Fortune 1000 company and beauty leader, is making the big move to Plano. The company announced plans to relocate its corporate headquarters to Legacy West.

Known for its wide range of professional hair color, hair care, nail and beauty products, Sally Beauty’s relocation marks a new chapter as the company continues to expand. The move not only brings another top company to Plano’s corporate scene but also positions Sally Beauty among other top companies in Legacy West’s growing business community.

“We are thrilled to welcome Sally Beauty to Plano,” said Mayor John B. Muns in an official statement. “Beyond bringing hundreds of jobs to our community, Sally Beauty has a proud history of making a positive impact in communities across the country. We are honored to partner with a company that shares our vision for growth, excellence and community impact, and we look forward to their continued success here in Plano.”

Why Sally Beauty Is Moving

Currently based in Denton, Sally Beauty will lease approximately 140,000 square feet of office space at 7900 Windrose Avenue. The relocation will bring around 600 corporate employees to Plano, with the opportunity to expand its workforce in the coming years.

“With this move, we will create our workplace of the future, offering a hub of culture and community that will drive enhanced collaboration and innovation and support Sally Beauty Holdings’ ongoing recruitment and talent retention efforts,” Sally Beauty CEO Denise Paulonis said. “As we look to the future, we will continue to strengthen our brand, accelerate our strategic initiatives and deliver engaging experiences and high-quality products for our customers.”

The company plans to complete its move to Legacy West by the end of the year.

Companies Love Legacy West

The move places Sally Beauty among several high-profile brands already headquartered in Legacy West, including Toyota Motor North America, Liberty Mutual and PepsiCo/Frito-Lay North America as well as regional offices for Boeing, USAA and JPMorgan Chase. The addition of Sally Beauty further solidifies Plano’s reputation as a hub for business and innovation.

According to Plano Director of Economic Development Doug McDonald, for more than 40 years, Legacy has ranked among the county's most desirable business parks, starting with Frito-Lay and JCPenney establishing their campuses. Today, demand for corporate locations is fueled by walkability, world-class amenities and access to top-tier talent — qualities Legacy delivers right now. Companies can relocate today and offer employees immediate access to a vibrant, amenity-rich, walkable environment.

"Beyond location and amenities, businesses thrive when surrounded by other industry leaders," McDonald told Local Profile. "A drive through Legacy showcases a lineup of globally recognized brands, which reinforces the park’s reputation as a premier business destination. This concentration of big corporate names is a testament to Plano’s commitment to supporting corporate growth and long-term success."

Yum! Brands — the company that owns KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and Habit Burger & Grill —  established dual corporate headquarters, with one in Plano and the other in Irvine, California. Taco Bell and The Habit Burger & Grill's teams operate out of Irvine, while Pizza Hut’s and now KFC’s global headquarters are in Plano.
