Free Concerts At Collin College

Collin College is inviting the community to enjoy its annual November music series, featuring free concerts by talented student musicians at the Plano and Wylie campuses.

Here’s the schedule:

Keyboard Ensemble

When: Nov. 13 | 7 p.m.
Where: John Anthony Theatre  

The Keyboard Ensemble showcases students specializing in piano, performing on Collin College’s two Steinway concert grands. The program includes duets and quartets featuring works by Bach, Mozart, Ravel and Schubert.

OneSound a Capella

When: Nov. 15 | 7 p.m. 
Where: John Anthony Theatre  

OneSound, the college's award-winning a cappella group, will captivate the audience with creative arrangements and choreography of popular hits, both modern and classic.

String and Symphonic Wind Ensembles

When: Nov. 19 | 7 p.m. 
Where: John Anthony Theatre  

The concert will showcase both classical and contemporary pieces performed by Collin College's string orchestra and symphonic wind ensemble, featuring a mix of music majors and non-majors.

Guitar Ensemble

When: Nov. 20 | 7 p.m.
Where: John Anthony Theatre  

Collin College’s award-winning One O’Clock Guitar Ensemble will perform a series of music from various historical periods.

Chamber Choir and Honors Voice Concert

When: Nov. 21 | 7 p.m.
Where: John Anthony Theatre

The Chamber Choir will present a dynamic program centered on rhythmic choral music, including lively, familiar tunes and pieces that creatively explore rhythm. The program will also feature an original choral composition by director Kathy Morgan. Additionally, the Honors Voice segment highlights top vocalists from Collin College’s vocal studios, performing operatic arias and art songs to celebrate their achievements this semester.

Jazz Combo PM, Jazz Combo Too and Jazz Lab Band

When: Nov. 23 | 7 p.m.
Where: John Anthony Theatre

This concert will feature the Collin Jazz Combo PM, Jazz Combo Too and Jazz Lab Band, in multiple styles, including swing, bebop, fusion, Latin and modern hits.

New Music Ensemble

When: Dec. 3 | 7 p.m.
Where: Living Legends Conference Center

The New Music Ensemble will present a concert of original works by Collin College student composers focusing on contemporary experimental music.

All events are free, with a special request for reservations for concerts held in the John Anthony Theatre on the Plano Campus. Unless noted otherwise, performances will take place at the Plano Campus, located at 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano. However, The Keyboard Ensemble concert on Dec. 7 will be held at the Wylie Campus Band Hall, 391 Country Club Road in Wylie.
