At the end of the month, Plano Symphony Orchestra will hold their annual spring gala at the Hilton Granite Park hotel. This year, the gala’s theme is “Crescendo: Music and Motion,” and the Plano Symphony Orchestra has recruited Chef Richard Chamberlain to create an intertwined food and music experience.

“They’ve asked me to help them in regard to food service,” Chamberlain said. “I am working with the chef at Hilton Granite Park to do a custom menu that would be a reflection of something you would have at Chamberlain’s Steak & Chop House or Chamberlain’s Fish Market Grill. The menu will be seasonal, delicious, uniquely prepared with a high level of style and deliciousness to it.”

Chamberlain is a longtime supporter of Plano Symphony Orchestra, citing their Broadway events as some of his favorites.

“They put on a lot of unique events that really capture me more than anything,” Chamberlain said. “The theme for this year’s gala is ‘Crescendo,’ and what’s new and different about it is that food and music will play sort of a symphony together.”

Straying away from the traditional banquet format of pre-set hor d’oeuvres, salads, and plates, Chamberlain plans on having live food stations inside the reception area of the Crescendo gala. He will have a selection of wines trayed up and ready for attendees, and will also be serving a specialty cocktail.

While the plates are still being finalized, Chamberlain mentioned the possibility of serving a sea scallop dish over a bed of Yukon gold potatoes, as well as a Texas wagyu brisket.

Following the reception, the doors will open into the hotel’s ballroom. Musicians belonging to Plano Symphony orchestra will be moving about the room, creating an interactive experience for gala attendees.

The night will conclude with the Bourbon & Bubbles after party, which will feature a live DJ, champagne, and bourbon cocktails.
