This October, join the 2016 Grandscape Walk to end Alzheimer’s and take the first steps towards a world without it. Annually, more than 600 commuities nationwide unite with  the Alzheimer’s Association for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. This is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.

It’s a 3-mile walk and the funds that are raised go toward the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. Registration is free, but donations are encouraged. Sign up as a walker yourself, or get a team together and get out to support efforts to eradicate Alzheimer’s. Participants who achieve the fundraising minimum of $100 will received a T-shirt on Walk day and well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome to walk as well.

On Walk day, each participant gets a wristband and a Promise Garden flower in the color of your choice that represents your personal connection to the disease.

  • Blue: Someone with Alzheimer’s or dementia
  • Purple: Someone who has lost a loved one to the disease.
  • Yellow: Someone who is currently supporting or caring for someone with Alzheimer’s.
  • Orange: Everyone who supports the cause and vision of a world without Alzheimer’s.
