Calling all bookworms! This October, come to the Lone Star Storytelling Festival, a celebration of reading and writing. There will be nationally renowned professional storytellers and Frisco’s own Lone Star Storytellers, David Novak and Barbara McBride-Smith. There are opportunities to get autographs, hear readings form professional storytellers and attend masterclasses. It’s suitable for the whole family.
Tickets go on sale September 12 and can be purchased online before the festival or during the festival.
David Novak’s Masterclass is: “Massaging the Story and Exercising the Listener”: This highly interactive class is intended for advanced storytellers. David Novak teaches exercises to challenge thinking and interpretive skills to use when composing stories for performance, with a focus on the listener’s experience.
Barbara McBride-Smith’s Masterclass is: “Getting the Ending Right”: Just as a great dessert makes any meal complete, the right ending can turn a story into a treat. Learn how to wrap up your tales in such a way that no questions are left unanswered and listeners can’t wait to hear your next story.
