Each year, the March birthday of Dr. Seuss is celebrated in schools around the world. Collin County is no exception.

Assistance League of Greater Collin County has been participating in activities during this special birthday for four years. Through the Caring in Action Committee, members visit schools throughout Collin County. These elementary schools are often decorated with student drawings to honor Dr. Seuss. Members read to students in 1st grade classes and donate books to students and the school libraries.  This year, chapter members, disguised as Cats in the Hat, read to the first graders at Davis Elementary School in Plano.  Each first grader was given a Dr. Seuss book to keep and take home, and two sets of Dr. Seuss Beginning Readers were donated to the school library.

We aren’t sure who had the most fun, the readers or the students?
