Students who will be high school sophomores the 2016-2017 school year – get ready for an unforgettable opportunity! Plano Youth Leadership (PYL) is accepting applications through April 29, 2016.

The mission of PYL  is to provide students at the sophomore level with diverse experiences that inspire lifelong leadership development and community involvement. Students will attend the monthly class sessions that concurrently run with the school year. They will learn how to become an effective leader and work with different leadership styles helping them to become more aware of the community as a whole and prepare them to make positive impacts within the community they live in as well as their future communities. PYL alumni boast about the program, including alumna Haley Roper, “PYL taught me how to work with many different leadership styles. This program has made an amazing impact on my life.”

According to Jeri Chambers, incoming PYL Board President, “Plano Youth Leadership is designed for 10th grade students at a time in their personal growth when they are developing an interest and comprehension of the broader community in which they live. PYL provides participants a unique opportunity to meet with and to learn from community leaders representing government, education, community service and business in an effort to maximize their individual leadership skills.”
