The Allen Community Outreach (ACO), a nonprofit dedicated to assisting community members through human and social services, opened their doors in mid-December of last year to an unexpected visitor with an early Christmas gift in-hand. TradeMark Car Wash, located at 1007 West McDermott in Allen, delivered a $5,000 check to help achieve the ACO’s goal of supplying 600 Collin County youths with Christmas gifts.
“We were overwhelmed by TradeMark Car Wash’s generosity,” said Glenda May, ACO executive director. “Their donation allowed us to reach more of the community and hopefully share some holiday cheer.”
The full service car wash that has served the area since 2004, has partnered with ACO for over a decade and after hearing news of the continued need, TradeMark Car Wash owners Tom and Kim Miller wanted to show the organization their support and appreciation. The day before volunteers purchased hundreds of gifts the Miller’s gave the surprise donation of $5,000—a bonus check ACO will never forget.
Every year, ACO provides less-fortunate children with an age appropriate present, in addition to their regular yearly services. The need for social services and funds continues to increase as does the growth of Collin County’s population. Every donation counts, but when a single donation as large as the one provided by TradeMark Car Wash comes along it has to be noted.
“The ACO does so much for our community,” said Kim Miller, “it is truly our honor to partner with them in whatever way we can. This year, being able to hand deliver an over-sized check was a joy for us and an unforgettable experience.”
