The ’boys are back in town. And that town is Frisco, Texas. And the ’boys? The Dallas Cowboys, of course! We’ve gotten insight into the partnership between the Cowboys organization, Omni Hotels & Resorts and the City of Frisco. And we’re more than happy to share the news!

The enormous complex, known as The Star, is made up of The Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters, The Ford Center (Cowboys training facility) and the Omni Frisco Hotel, which has been under construction for some time now. We have heard so much about the future Dallas Cowboys’ home, but now we dive into more detail on the relationship between the organizations that made The Star possible and what it’s going to look like for the city of Frisco.

Brandon “Babe” Laufenberg, former American football quarterback in the NFL who also played for the Dallas Cowboys, hosted the big, detail-giving event today on everything Cowboys and Omni. He mentioned that the The Ford Center would be home to Frisco Independent School District football games and that new restaurants and the hotel would bring new adventures to Frisco.

Prior to the build of the complex, Laufenberg candidly told Jerry Jones, “If you build it, they will come, and they will come…” just as AT&T Stadium held a Super Bowl, College Football Playoff National Championship, NBA All-Star Game, and most recently Taylor Swift.

The Cowboys and Omni aren’t the only ones eager to get The Star up and running. Frisco Mayor Maher Maso is ecstatic to let us know that “[The Dallas Cowboys, Omni Hotels & Resorts and the City of Frisco] are paving the way through partnerships and passion.” The students of the city would not be able to have the level of facilities the Cowboys are able to offer; the Cowboys need the support of the students; and the Omni is an amazing place for family and friends of the students to stay. It’s a win-win-win, for everyone.

As you can see, partnership and passion are two key ingredients to the development of The Star. Jerry Jones, President, Owner and GM of the Dallas Cowboys, considers this partnership “the best of the best” and exclaims that he is “excited about the blood that’s going through the veins.” That blood being the City of Frisco; Bob Rowling, Owner and Chairman of TRT Holdings Inc.; Omni Hotels & Resorts; and Jerry Jones’ passion. Jones goes on to say the complex “deserves this kind of attention.”

Rowling said, “The Omni has been built into a powerhouse brand.” Omni Frisco Hotel is the fifth in the DFW Metroplex and they are excited to see it grow to be as much of a staple as the others have. When the partnership with Omni and the Dallas Cowboys became an idea, Rowling asked Stephen Jones, son of Jerry Jones and EVP/COO of the Cowboys, “How are we going to pay for this?” Stephen jokingly replied, “I don’t know, I’ll put in one dollar and you put in one dollar…” Well, their efforts paid off and their dreams achieved.

It’s amazing what can be accomplished by early summer of 2017. At that point, the 16-story Omni opens its 24,000-square-foot, 300-room hotel with everything you could desire in a destination, including the title as the only full-service upscale hotel in the area. Laufenberg stated that “the Omni Hotel is the centerpiece” of The Star development as guests may enjoy fine dining, a lobby coffee and wine bar, and a rooftop pool bar and grill. The hotel will also feature awesome treasures created by local designers.

Get ready to grab your partners and head to Frisco where the passion of growth and excitement lies at The Star! Summer 2017, we look forward to you.
